*cross posted in OS X*

Everytime I start up my computer, being from a restart or a cold boot, if I leave the cd drive tray in, I get a blinking system folder icon. I have to cnrt+apple+power and then force-open the drive tray in order to get it to boot fine.

Oh, and I *just* did an archive and install, thinking that would fix the problem. And I repaired the permissions. I have no idea what the deal is.

10.2.6
iBook (dual USB) 500mhz
640 ram
20 gig
combo drive.

Oh, and I ran the hardware test. Everything is Kosher.

That's odd. Check the Startup Disk pane in System Preferences and be sure the correct system folder is selected (that trick would work in OS9 to fix some startup issues).
