Okay, I've never heard of this happening to anyone... I just had to give up my oh-so-convenient airport for dialup access. I tend to move around my room with my iBook (800, 14 inch), and just this afternoon I grabbed it without realizing the phone cord was still plugged in. When I hit the end of the cord, the computer was yanked back since the cord was still in the modem port. I didn't drop it, all I had was the pull - not even too strong. All of a sudden, I got a screen flicker, and then it froze. Rebooted, and at the loadup screen (that gray thing with the startup indicator), it does the same thing. All I can think of is to open the darned thing up and see if any connections are loose... Just my luck, I was about to sell the darned thing too.

Any hints on what to check out?

Isn't it just under warranty? You may have damaged something on the motheboard with the yanking...I'd send it off to Apple and have them take a look at it. If it wasn't a serious yank, they may just think it's a MoBo problem and replace it for free.
