I recently bought a 600 mhz ibook and also upgraded to 640 mb of ram. The cdrom drive in my ibook is broken and it's really bugging me. I've been trying to secure a replacement cdrom drive or possible a dvd/cdrw combo.

Is it worth it to get it fixed?

i've had the same problem on my 500mhz for about a year now. If you find a replacment for a good price, let me know. I've only been able to find them for around $200 and thats a bit to much for me.

Hey Chad,

I found one on ebay yesterday but I got outbidded at 55$. I thought that was too much for just a regular internal cdrom drive. I've seen a dvd/cdrw combodrive for +150$.

That place has all the drives, but the cdrom is the least expensive at 80$, which is kind pricey for my tastes.

But I think I may consider it as a last resort. We'll see how much this bugs me.
