Hi all!

I just got this iBook 300 (the green one) and it's working great besides this one thing; the battery wont stop charging when full. Atleast the powercord-thingie wont turn green. Amber all the way. However, this is while running Linux. I haven't tried with good old OS9 yet. Does anyone know if this is a Linux-specific thing (I'm running Yellow Dog Linux 3.0)? Any similar cases? And, is it harmful for my battery?

Oh, yeah, if I put the machine to sleep and the wake it up the light is green for a while but later turns to amber. Strange.

Thanks.

Not certain, but I think charging is controlled to a point b y the OS. I would boot into 9 or X and see if it turns green.

If not, don't worry about it unless the thing gets really HOT.

Thanks for your reply. I installed OS9 and saw the same problem until I regained my patience. It just takes quite a while for the battery to become completely charged it seems. Even when it says it's charged at 100% it takes some time for the green light to appear. I'm going to see if it's the same thing with Linux, but I have a strong feeling it might be. And can you imagine; I can get almost 3.5 hours out of this 1999-battery! Cheers!
