Okay, I just downloaded 'temperature monitor' from Version Tracker, but now I would like to know what at standard operating temperature for the 12" PB should be.
If you don't know what the standard is, what is you 12" PB temp?

yeah I think 50-60°C is the normal temperature.
Only in the last 2 weeks when there were 40°C outside, cpu temperature was up to 70°C.

I have been running between 117ºF and 126ºF (50ºC). I amn trying to feel out what a 12" PB runs at so I'd actually know if it was getting too hot, if say I had it on my lap.

Wow. I wasn't aware the difference between the iBook and PB was that major. Wonder how the status is on the PC side..? BTW: ThermoInDock tells me 28C which should be about average on my old iBook 600 8mb ati.

What about temperatures on the 15 and 17 powerbooks?
Are they the same as the 12"?

My 17 works at around 45-50. PLaying a DVD at these outside temperatures (30-35) brings it up to 60.

ibooks are pretty cool compared to albooks... I remember my ibook 500, i never even noticed the heat, while others who had dell laptops had to use pillows on their laps and i made fun of them.. now i know how it feels. It must be the faster cpu + metal case. Also ever since reading about that guy who burnt his ... um.. lap... i'm paranoid with using it on my lap..
