No no, I don't mean tap-clicking. I mean real trackpad button clicking. If I press on the lower right corner of my trackpad's mousing area, the mouse button clicks. My finger isn't touching the button, it feels like the whole thing is moving.

And lo and behold, if I press just right of the trackpad, on the wristpad, that clicks it too.

I had the top half (wristpad, trackpad and frame) replaced with my last repair, and I didnt notice this sooner because I don't tap the trackpad too often. Maybe they didn't put it back on too tight?

Think I have a case for an Applecare repair?

so..........................

This is just an inherent part of the design? I've had my iBook for just under 2 years and I've never noticed it depressing like that.

Is it the fact that underneath the right side abover the battery and not some bolted in structure like the hard drive?

this is normal?

Are you trying to "click" on something? It's not noticable unless you are selecting an icon or a link (something that a click action would show). (Although there is a kinda muffled "click" sound--for me, anyway.

You also need to use a fair amount of pressure, try using the tip of your finger.

Same thing here. Noticed it with a coincident long time ago, but it only happens if I do it on purpose, so it's not such big deal for me.
A design flaw, yes.

Mine does it too, no big deal. If it didnt require so much pressure and clicked when you moved your finger over there, then you have a problem, but it's not like anyone in their right mind would put that much pressure on the trackpad during normal usage
