Hey, Has anyone tried the new (but not supported by Apple) firmware update that turns your Powerbook G4's Superdrive from 1x to 2x DVD burning speed?
I want to try it but of course I am concerned about my expensive Apple Care protection plan that I have invested in. I don't want Apple to turn me down on service for installing non-supported firmware. I have the 17"Powerbook.
I wanted to know if anyone has any feedback on success with the new firmware working. This firmware is suppose to upgrade all Powerbooks with Apple installed Superdrives. 12", 17" and TiBooks.
Any feedback appreciated.
Also for those that have already installed it has there been any increased heat during faster burning?
