Can anyone recommend a free or shareware application that can check for faulty RAM? I suspect that the chip I recently bought is behind the appearance of numerous application quits I'm seeing lately, but the Apple Hardware Test CD that came with my computer says it checks out fine. An Apple tech however has told me that the check this software does is far from complete, and RAM can still be faulty even if Hardware Test says it's okay.

Thanks,

Adham

There was a RAM test app on www.versiontracker.com a while back... I seem to remember it was in response to the update that Apple released that rendered a lot of RAM unrecognisable...

It may have been OS9 only, but may be worth search.

Well use your hardware test CD. You may not have one however if you give me your specs we might be able to figure this out. The ram tester that Placid speaks of came around a while back for OS9. Their was a problem with RAM on 9.2 or something I dont remember. Well some guy made something called DIMM CHECK...

Now in the OSX days however this may not be a good solution for you. I strongly suggest if your serious about checking your hardware to get TechTool Pro 4 when it is released soon. I am getting it myself and its a wonderful app I strongly reccomend. The support is absolutely wonderful, and its just a wonderful company.
