It was charged the other day, now I put it in and it just shows the lil 'x'.

My question is: Will Apple send me a new battery since it's all under warrenty still?

You'll never know unless you ask!

I would guess that it would indeed be covered by the Applecare warranty, assuming you haven't done anything stupid like run it over with an SUV or something...

Unfortunately sometimes these things just happen... It sucks but I guess they are a part of life

Luckily it would seem that Macs have less problems than most, but it doesn't help when you have the faulty machine... At least you have Applecare though, so you (hopefully) won't have to pay anything out to get it fixed.
