Bought mine in March. I thought about what a new 15 would give me over the old, and it really wasn't much.
I figure that in 2 years or so I'll replace it with a G5 Powerbook anyway.

I bought a 15" Ti at the end of July.
The sands of waiting time ran out.
I'll figure I'll just buy a Powerbook G5 in a few years or something. But to be honest the Ti is so good, I'm not even thinking of it...

I voted other as I just bought a 12" PB to replace my aging 400 TiBk. I am still waiting for an upgrade and will buy either a 15 or 17 and hand my 12 down to the wife to replace her iBook.

I'm still using a 500 MHz dual USB iBook and am waiting and waiting for the new 15" PowerBooks. HOPEFULLY I'll be able to buy one because the lag on this iBook is driving me nuts.

Well I keep going back and forth with this as many people know. Now I have finally just cemented this in my mind. I am not buying until I get a rev b because that was what I wanted in january. I will get the 12 rev B. I dont care how long I have to wait, and I think its going to happen this tuesday. If not then I will just keep waiting. I have waited sense january why would I get something I wasnt initially going to get. I can use computer labs in the time being, and I got an iMac 600

I voted other as I am just waiting to the end of this week... next week I buy an existing unless they've announced something... and then I may still be buying existing depending upon what they announce.
Sigh.

Other :- With the G5's on the Horizon I said screw it and sunk some cash into RAM, 768MB now it feels like a new machine. By the time the G5 Powerbook gets to us I'll have the need to upgrade. Till then long live my Ti 550

the educational discount + ipod rebate is REALLY REALLY ummmmm un-miss-able.

I broke down earlier this month and got a 12" after waiting since Jan. It's for college so I realized waiting longer would have made getting used to the machine (I'm a switcher) much harder.
|
|
Looking forward.

As probably everybody already knows on this board I'm waiting for the new 12".
And I am slowly but surely going nuts because of it.

Considering the price lowering some time ago, the actual offer is more than good I would say, considering what the machine has cost before.
It still is a great machine.

Hmmmm... yes. But I am envious on the lucky guys that got theirs nearly new/refurbished in the 1800-2000$ range (1Gig model). I am also hoping for a real bargain! :-)

I'm saving up the new 15 when it eventually comes out. My 500mhz iBook will continue to serve well until then. I'm hoping the rumors are true, and it will have a 15.4 widescreen display *drool*

Since nobody (surprising...) have voted for "I got tired of waiting, and bought a PC laptop instead", why there is a small colored bar in the poll?

I am going out of my mind waiting for the 12". I was fine waiting, until the frenzy of this board made me believe it would be released this week - now I count the days.
For me, crunch time is the education discount. - Sept 27 is when the $69 iPod deal (269 for the 10 gig - 200 rebate) ends, so they NEED to replace the 12" before then. That deal may force me to buy a new 12" before it ends. Of course, if we get that far off, Apple WILL introduce a new 12" on sept 28th....
somewhat patiently waiting

I'm just about to get a Tibook some time next week, but in all honesty I could still use my Pismo for another few years, it's just that the video ram is starting to become a problem now that I've hooked it up to a 19" monitor.
I'm not really one of those wait n see type of people, I'd rather just go out and get what I needed at the time, so I won't be hanging around for 15" albooks, or anything like that.

Don't expect the iPod rebate to be applied on the purchase of new powerbooks.

I'm "waiting" for the G5 Powerbooks to upgrade.
My 600mhz iBook is no speed demon, but I don't do anything really CPU intensive, so it'll last me a year or more until I can get a 15 or 17 inch G5PB.

As the 100th voter, I want to say I'm holding out for dual batteries and the G5 in the PowerBook! I decide to boycott the G4 because I'm too disgusted by Motorola's ineptitude and some of Apple's PowerBook design choices after the Pismo. Simply give me a modern equivalent of what my trusty old Pismo can offer, and my $4000+ cash is Apple's to keep.

I just found out about this forum from another after asking about possible G4 updates. Now like most of you guys I'm waiting for the new model!
I wanted to get a current 12" but I always looked at it compared to a 15" and wanted the features of the 15" in the 12". Namely a little more processor power (1 Ghz would be perfect) and a better video card. If Apple was smart they'd put the backlit keyboard of the 17" in the whole line! That's just plain sweet. I'm holding out for the new 12" and buying it regardless of what they do to it.

My first post, I thought this was one I could chime in on…
I bought my 12” in July… I couldn’t wait any longer. I love it, but if/when they release a 12” with DVI… I will jump all over it.

I have been waiting for the 12" Rev. B since the beginning of the summer. Since I will get an external LCD to go with it, I have decided to wait for the Samsung 172X to be release, apparently in September. If nothing comes out by then, I will "settle" for Rev. A.

I've been waiting for the 12" update for a couple of weeks now (dunno how you people can wait 6 months or so ). Hopefully the update will come before my craptacular Toshiba notebook gets smash to pieces, uh I mean when it dies
