Firstly, I'm new here. Nice to meet y'all!

All right, without further ado...

Well, after reading post after post about how easy and cheaper it is to install RAM yourself, I decided to upgrade my week-old iBook to 640 MB. I got a 512 MB stick from 4allmemory.com, and got to work. The installation went fine (except that the airport wire holder gave much more resistance than I thought it would). But the reassembly didn't go so smoothly. First, the keyboard, it just wouldn't go back just right. One side is always crooked. No matter how I push or adjust, one side goes in smoothly, but the other goes in with resistance. And it's noticeably crooked on one side by looking at the bottom of the keyboard (the keys on one side is up against the palmrest, and the other side the keys leave a little space).

Secondly, the laptop wobbles now! Before, it was rock-solid on the desk, but now it wobbles on one side.

Should I just take it to the Apple Store, and have them "re-do" it and get it back into shape?

First, open that puppy up and check that everything is back in place, including:
-the Airport antenna cable (and that the metal connector on the end isn't sticking straight up or anything)
-the clip that holds the Airport antenna cable down
-The Airport card itself (if you have one)
-the metal shield and it's screws
-the keyboard cable
-the clips that hold the keyboard down (between esc & F1, and F11 &F12)
If all else fails, have someone take a look at it.
