My friend who also has one told me it's better to leave it on all the time and charging. Is there any truth to his words?

It's always a good practice to leave the computer on the charger when not using it. I leave my 17"PB and my iBook on the charger all the time. Apple uses a Lithium Prismatic battery system on the Aluminum Powerbooks which does not build up a memory and will stop charging once the battery is fully chaged thus preventing it from over charging. Even the batteries in the TiBook and iBook operate the same way.
Hope this helps.
