I never thought about this before, but MacMall and Macconnection always offers like 512 of free ram with a powerbook purchase (usually a 40 dollar fee to put it in thought) but it's usually some company I've never heard of.

Does the company who makes the RAM really matter. Is their a Sony of RAM and more importanly a Zenith or GE of RAM?

What company does APPLE use?

I think Apple uses Samsung.

If they install the RAM it probably comes with a warranty. I think MacWarehouse's is for as long as you own the machine. Check with the reseller to make sure.

A dealer would look pretty stupid giving away RAM that didn't work, or had issues... I would think it will be fine.

In my experience, unless you buy *really* cheap RAM, it is all much of a muchness... I have had Apple machines that have used Samsung and Crucial memory before...
