I am taking my 15 inch Ti PowerBook to Tuscany for 10 days. I want to connect to my Earthlink account there (they have many local numbers in Italy).

Where can I get an adapter to use a USA phone cord with the Italian phone jacks?

Any good computer shop. Or, if you're leaving from a main airport, at any good airport electronics shop.

Hi,

Try some of the links at this google search:

BTW have you considered using wi-fi for your connections?

As a follow up to my last post, here is some info on wireless hotspots in Italy:

Something I find useful, is that most modern phones use a lead that plugs into the phone with an rj45 jack, and then has the local country plug on the other end.

I've been able to use this many times when I haven't had the appropriate local adaptor by just unplugging the lead from the phone and into the back of my powerbook.

If you're staying in a major hotel, most of them have phones that have an rj45 socket in the side of them for modem connections.

Enjoy your trip,

J.
