I find it very amusing that so many people are waiting for 12, 15 and 17" PowerBook updates. The rumor sites said end of August. Another Tuesday comes ... and still no new PowerBooks.

Just think of all of the time you've wasted waiting. I bought my 17" PBook in March and I've enjoyed every single minute!

Well I wasn't even in the market until the middle of July, so i don't feel that I 'missed out' on months of not having a great machine.

Everyone loves to point out 'you could've bought in january and had 8 months of a great machine' - well I have only been waiting about a month and a half. Why is it painful for me? Because I want the damn pbook, and I don't want to buy it now, when it SEEMS updates are imminent. yeah yeah, buy it now, there will always be new stuff - I just want to grab the most for my money - and usb2 would be nice...

I do admit I was not so worked up until I started reading these boards and the rumor mills...

Indeed I am. I think it's lame to continue waiting for the next best thing when you can have a great machine now.

Not lame at all. I cannot get a 15" Powerbook with built-in Bluetooth and Airport Extreme so I have to wait. Right now when I synchronize, I can't use an external mouse because both USB ports are taken with my Palm cradle and Bluetooth adapter.

The people that are buying now are buying because they need a Powerbook now.
The people that are waiting are waiting because they either do not need a Powerbook at this moment, or the current line does not meet their needs.

Is that so lame?
