I am having an interesting problem with my Ti867 - The battery life remaining in the toolbar remains around 85-100%, and the battery even shows 4 lights if you press the button on it, but I have been using it for HOURS, and then all of a sudden it will shut off - go to sleep, and the battery shows one light.

It kinda is annoying, I still get reasonable batt life, but I never know how close I am to needing a recharge - has anyone heard about this? Anyone know what the warranty is on a pbook battery?

There was a post in one of the threads (sorry don't remember where ) that linked to the knowledge base article about resyncing the battery. Basically you charge it drain the battery down without charging it, charge it up again, drain it down to the low battery warning and when you recharge you should be set.

If that doesn't do it then it may be your battery. How old is it? Just curious.

I have drained it/recharged it several times, maybe not in such a controlled manner as you say, but the laptop is about 9 mos old...

AFAIK, The battery needs to be drained all at once. Likewise, the battery must be recharged back to full charge all at once. Plugging in the AC adapter will interrupt the process and you'll have to begin all over again.

All the circuitry that measures the remaining battery life and such is in the battery itself, so that's why both your battery menu item and the battery's own led's reported the same thing.

My advise is to take it from a full charge then run it down in the evening. Then have it recharge overnight so you're not tempted to fiddle with it. Go read a book in the time between your battery going dead and you going to sleep.

Thanks, that's the point I was trying to make. I know in my manual (who reads them?) that's how it says to do it but it's only in the first part when you first get the PB.

Myh wifes 500mhz Ti was starting to mess up and i did the drain to it a week ago and it works fine now.
