Hey guys

For a while now ive been running w/o a CD drive, but today at school, i decided to plug in a firewire drive.. and to my supprise the CD did not load on the screen.. After reboot and everything, still did not load.. It got me thinking.. because the device manager dealy says there is a CD rom connected, but when CD inserted.. spins up.. dosent show on my desktop.. then.. w/ the firewire.. spins up.. dosent show.. this can only be 2 things..

1. My finder is broken, not showing the disks on the desktop

2. My firewire AND Cdrom is broken

Any Ideas?

Longshot here....

But for HD and Removeable drives, you can hide them from APPEARING on the desktop through the Destop view preferences thingie...

I'm bad at giving advice, maybe someone smarter can explain this better....

Anyhoo, this means that the CD mounted okay, but you've some selected not to have it shown on your desktop. Go to my Computer and maybe its there?

Device Manager? My Computer? What's going on here? That stuff's for Windows!

If the CD doesn't mount on the Desktop, open a Finder window and see if it shows up there.

Go to Finder: Preferences and see if you have the option selected for HDs, CDs, etc to appear on the desktop.
