Just read this new offer on the Apple Store for Education website,

'Buy any PowerBook or qualifying iBook together with an iPod and you’ll save £120 (UK) or €180 (Ireland)* off the already discounted education price. Add a qualifying HP printer, and you’ll get an additional £60/€100* off. These special offers are available exclusively for teachers and students from August 25th until November 25th, 2003.'

It's interesting that the deadline for the offer is applicable until Nov 25th. Not sure how much can be read into this extended time frame over the US Sep 30th deadline for a similar discounted package, vis-a-vis the thread that shall not be mentioned in polite company.....

Interesting indeed... As you say, some interesting lines of though spring to mind... Hope people like waiting.

Although on a personal note I bought my Powerbook 4 weeks ago and really wanted an iPod... If only they had sorted the deal a bit earlier to take into account the start of the education sales market...

Oh well, no regrets! The Powerbook is easily the best Mac I have used, so I am happy either way!!

Failed to mention that it's a largely unrestricted offer in terms of eligible Powerbooks, since the terms and conditions read '.... Any Apple PowerBook or iBook portable computer (EXCEPT: M8758 iBook 800MHz/CD-ROM and Z06U iBook CD-ROM Configure-to-Order)'.

So, it's either an incredibly generous offer when combined with any new Powerbooks that become available during the lifetime of the offer, new Apple laptops will be known by another name (!), or we're in for a long wait. Not exactly sparkling deductive work, but there it is.
