I'm think of getting a PowerBook G4 that is a bargain on eBay, because it won't power up.

Is this likely to be because the mobo is fried, or is there some other reason this could of happened...

If so, how easy/expensive is it going to be to fix?

Thanks

Adam

or it could be as simple as a broken ac adapter.

my pb doesn't power up because of a blown resister on the mobo. it was sleeping in my backpack, which got soaked in a thunderstorm.

i'm considering getting a pb with a broken screen and reattaching mine, though it's probably incredibly difficult.

Perhaps the CPU is not fully seated. My PB G3 had the CPU dislodged slightly during RAM install.

No offence but if you have to ask these questions you better not get involved with a machine that is potentially expensive to fix.

Leave that risk to the experts
