I just found my old OS9 backup on my firewire harddrive and figured out that it was a 4 GB disk image. to safe some space i burned a dvd out of it. The system folder and everything is on it so i thought if i burn a dvd out of it i could maybe start up from it on my old pismo 500 firewire. but it doesn't even show up on desktop

on a ti 1Ghz i can boot from it.

why is my dvd drive in my pismo not able to read the dvds i burn with my 17"???

i don't like this.

I have also experienced this with a Pismo. I think the DVD readers are not DVD-R compatible, but I hoped I was wrong.

It depends to some extent on the media you use, and also on the maker of your Pismo's drive (Apple used Matsushita and LG drives, and maybe others).

The incompatibility I noticed was with a Matshita DVD/Combo drive and Apple DVD-R media.
