Hi I bought a 12 Powerbook on eBay, the seller said that he had it for 4 months, is there a way I can look up my serial number to see how much time I have on the 1 yr warranty left?

You could try calling Apple, they might know based on the serial number. I've never tried before though so I have no idea whether they'd be willing to part with this information.

You could also ask for a photo/scan of his sales receipt.
