I opened a Dr. Pepper and it exploded all over my keyboard on my 17in powerbook - and now some of the keys are sticky. :-( Any ideas of what to do? I know the 15in, you can remove the whole keyboard, but with the 17in, I'm not sure sure, and searching Apple's site had no info on the 17in keyboard.

Please help!

Timmerk, when you own a $3500.00 computer the first thing you never do is open carbonated beverages near it. That was just stupid. Everyone makes a mistake once in a while but that's a no brainer with that 17" beauty.
The only thing you can do is call Apple or take it to a nearby Apple Retail Store and be prepared to pay a fee to get it cleaned because you have no idea what is underneath the keyboard and the sugar from that soda pop may damage other things in the computer.

I can't say that nothing will ever happen to mine but I cherish my 17"PB so you better start to cherish yours for that amount of money.
Good Luck.

I know, I know. That's what happens when you get spoiled when I got this laptop as a graduation gift. I eat subway on top of my keyboard too! Can you belive that!

But now I stopped, after the sticky keys. grrr. I guess I will start calling apple stores.

But if anyone else has any ideas how to do it myself, let me know! Thanks!

Grab the 17" service manual from:

http://home.earthlink.net/~gamba2/manuals.html

It will show you how to pull the keyboard. Sorry to hear about your explosion, it can happen to anyone...

Hehehe, nice one. That'll give you a nice hard lesson for the future! I have had my 17inch since March, which is about when they started shipping it to everyone. I travel with it a lot, classes, work, airplane, car... ect, ect, you name it. But I still treat this thing like it's my own baby, still looks like new to this day.

This baby is something that a lot of people can only dream of having, so treat it well!
