Hello all,
I am brand new to Macs, and I got offered a deal for a PowerBook and I was wondering if some of you could take a look and see if I am getting a good deal or not, as I have no previous knowledge of PowerBooks whatsoever and am just getting into them. The specs are:

I’m currently looking at a G4 1GHZ, 1 GB RAM (Upgraded), 15’’, SuperDrive for 2367.75 shipped.

The item is still sealed in the box. Is this a good deal, or should I wait for something else? Is 15'' a good entry level or should I look at something smaller? How are resale values?

Thanks!
Evan

Never buy anything a week before a Mac expo.

At least wait to see what is announced next week, 9/16 in Paris.

New 15" PowerBooks are almost a lock.

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking, but can I get away with getting a new 15'' (If they have a new one of course) for less than 2500?

Probably not with the specs you posted.

I would wait until after the expo mostly because if they do introduce a new model of the Powerbook 15inch, then the old model would be even more cheaper to buy. But heck... might as well pick yourself up a spanking new 15inch Al.
