My 12" PB was shipped yesterday. (But 15G iPod had to be delayed in delivery due to the model change. They are giving me the 20G model for the same price. Geez, I'm so sad... Not!!)

About the upcoming upgrades : I guess it all depends on what you plan to use the PB for. It's only a tool. Plus, the changes will be so minor that I doubt that changes are really that noticeable.
For me, G4 12" is only a tutorial model for learning music softwares and a transitional model until G5 15" is announced in an year or two. Al G4 15" would be an overkill for me at this point. Plus, the idea of upgrading to G5 15" in the future excites me and adds motivation to my tutorial phase. That sense of 'next stage' is really important for me.

as for upset.

if the 17" is 1.3 or 1.35ghz

I will be a little upset but this is my first time being in a position like this I have no Idea how to go about a trade in.

no one on MacNN has helped with this issue so I guess I'm stuck and have to be happy with my PB

I would love to not open the box and wait if I only knew how to go about returning and trading up.

Just had my 12" delivered!! I just finished up setting up the basics. I had seen it and play with it at stores before, but it feels so fresh and different now. I'm in love!! It's soooooo beautiful!!

I'm going to install some softwares and load up some CD's in preparation for my iPod which delivery is delayed thanx to the model change. (15G -> 20G)

I don't care about the upcoming upgrades now. Tired of waiting. I'm going to have a wonderful love affair until G5 PB 15" Rev.B arrives. So happy!!

congrats... I'm thinking the same thing, no need to get stressed over the upgrades, when I can just enjoy it now.

waiting was hard enough...

I can't even sleep tonight knowing I may get it in a few hours
