I need to install/restore to a new system on my PB 12". The original DVD is damage (my dog chewed on it). My G4 10.2.3 installations disc wont boot on the PB, neither will a friend of mine 10.2.5 orginal CD do.

It seems that the PB 12" needs a specific or a custom made boot disc to work properly.

Does anyone have any ideas or hacks how to make 10.2.X orginal CDs boot up on the Powerbook 12".

Or does anyone know how much it cost to order a new software set from Apple?

Call Apple up and ask.

Anyways, I wondered when my prediction (from Nov. 14, 2002) would come true.
Besides the Hardware Test CD, it's a software install DVD.

This of course means that those of you without a DVD-R burner won't be able to directly back up your install disc.

I wonder how many "AAArrrrrggghhhh! I broke my install disc and I don't have a backup!" posts we're gonna get in the next year.

I called Apple support and they were kind enough to send me a replacement set.
