I've been having frequent grey screens of death; "restart now, hold down power, etc..." so I decided to run the Hardware test c.d. that came with my Tibook. All hardware passed with the exception of Memory=m_3/6. Here are the stupid questions;

Do I really need to replace the RAM chips? I have the below in my 500mhz Tibook;

SODIMM0/J16 TOP
SODIMM1/J16 BOTTOM

Which one do I replace? Do I really have to replace both?? Can't I just like reset PRAM or something??? How can RAM just go bad after over two years of dinkering???? Again, these are probably stupid questions, but I've got a 6 yr old REVA iMac-never a problem, and this two and a half yr old Tibook, never a problem. So I'm one of those spoiled rotten Mac users you hear about that haven't any problems. Well, I guess if there's a problem, I'm glad it's RAM and not something bigger. Please help all and thanx. I was sure someone else had this problem, but I ran a search within the Powerbook forum and rendered no results on the above fault code. BTW, this site ROCKS and thanx again!

Remove the one that makes your computer stop having problems when you remove it.

Yeah, I know, not very good advise - but it'll be cheeper just to isolate the bad ram then replace it rather than try and get someone to diagnose the problem. Unless it's Apple installed RAM and under AppleCare still. If that's the case, then just call apple.

I thank you Earth Mk. II. Actually, your advise helped as I was kind of fishing for confirmation on the inevitable. I'm a lazy guy, what can I say?
