Does anyone know if the 17" powerbook models still have that "sizzling" sound that emits from the keyboard area?

Has this problem been fixed? I remember reading that early models SOMETIMES had this problem and was wondering if those who have newer models (purchased since August) could chime in on whether their laptops are quiet or not?

I can only tell you about mine: I bought it in May including the sizzling noise-but after a few weeks it stopped and hasn`t bothered me since then.

There`s hope for all you "sizzlers" out there! Don`t give up!

Got mine in May also. It only does it when waking from sleep but still does it.

I bought mine in August and didn't even notice the sizzle until I read about it on this forum. It's not loud enough to notice unless you place your ear next to the keyboard. I'm not worried about it, but it would be nice to know why it sizzles, and if it has a negative affect on the Powerbook.
