Periodocally my TiBook 15in is plugged in and then the ac adapter turns off and it starts to draw from the battery. If I remove the plug from the wall and the plug it back in right away the ac adapter starts to work as normal.

I asked someone at the apple store what the deal is with this and she says that this is exactly what is supposed to happen because my Tibook received some sort of power surge and the ac adapter shut down to protect damage and when I uplug the plugged in the adapter is reset itself and started working as normal.

Does this sound right or is there another reason I am having these problems? Anyone else have this happen?

Thanks for the help

This happens to my PB 17 as well. There has been a discussion on this board before regarding this topic. Apparently Apple has designed the AC adapter to shut off when when it gets a spike or something. It seems to be rather sensitive(better safe than sorry). I bought a different surge protector and plugged in to a different AC outlet and that has seemed solve it.
