Why would they change the pricing structure for a new release? You can always (try to) negotiate a better price.... All they can say is "no". I've had some success in that way.

The fine print on the iPod rebate says "Sept. 27". If you have the new HW in your hands by then, I'm sure it would apply. Unless they change the rules (which has happened).
