I ordered my iPod last week, along with the Dock.

The dock arrived today, but my shipping for the actual iPod is on or before Sept 17, 2003.


You would think they have a pile of them just sitting there, waiting to ship.

Actually this should be in the peripherals forum, but how could this happen? Did you order the 10GB iPod & then the dock seperately?

Yes, I ordered them seperately, but at the same time. I GOT the dock now, but no iPOD

It's been generally noted on the various Mac sites the past several weeks that the 10 Gig iPod has been in short supply. Mail order companies have not had stock during this period. Apple, I suspect, had the manufacturer concentrate on upgrading to the new 20 and 40 gig iPods which are the most popular. It will come in a few days.

P.S. When you set the clock, do the following. Stay up until a few minutes before midnight. Make sure the iPod is off. Watch the screen as the midnight hour arrives!

if you go to thinksecret.com they say a special addition 40gb ipod is coming out so hope that helps.

I ordered a 10 Gb iPod from the Apple Store on Aug 22, and it just shipped Friday (although I still haven't received it). They were really backed up.

On the other hand, I did receive the Dual G5 I ordered back in June...so I won't complain.
