I normally take my PB12 to the cafe to write because I'm too lazy to do any work at home.
So anyway, this evening there was no place to sit at the cafe and therefore I had to drive back home coffee and Powerbook in hand.
Well, when I got home and parked the car in the garage, I looked across to the passenger seat, where I normally keep my PB as I travel, and it wasn't there!
What happened to it?! Did I leave it at the cafe? No, I remember leaving with it, carrying it as I walked sulking down the road to my car.
Is it behind the driver's seat where I normally keep it? I asked. So I got out to pull the driver's seat forward and lo and behold there was my Powerbook. No, not behind the seat but on the roof of the car!
I had driven three miles doing 60MPH in a powerful BMW and the little Aluminium beast did not budge a single inch, even with my crazy driving and weaving around corners. Not one inch! I'll never complain about the rubber feet again.
I also know now why all those SUVs driving behind me were flashing their lights at me.

Lemme pick up my jaw from the floor before I say anything other than "damn."
::Edit::

The car? I knocked the right wing mirror off today. 630 bucks repair cost. I hate the right wing, they cost us too much money.

Oh well... even if you do break it or lose it, you can always afford another one anyways... and I'm sure you have all your data backed up somewhere. Most of us here has to take time to save up again.

Thank god for rubber feet! Now you can saw that the powerbook takes on corners like never before and can handle 0-60 with east! Not bad for a G4! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
I wonder if the 17" PB can handle the same effect with its mass. Oh wait maybe the ground clearance on the 17" isn't enought to clear the curve of the roof!
But seriously, you must be one lucky PB owner. If that had been around the more urban areas of NY at stoplights, those rubber feet wouldn't even make the cut against those squeegy people wiping your windows.... my demo showreel

RooneyX: Isn't that just the greatest feeling in the world to know that you did something so insane, but nothing bad happened? Glad the little guy hung on tight! Cool story!

I don't know why this reminded me of an old Apple commercial for the Quadra, but it was mostly video of a car speeding down a winding road with the engine revving. The voiceover is saying, "Its' power will amaze you, its' handling will astound you. But what makes this computer so revolutionary is what it runs on ... your imagination. Macintosh Quadra, the most powerful Macintosh, EVER."
Glad to hear your PowerBook survived. YOU know the guy driving an '89 Buick that doesn't have two nickels to rub together would have seen his PB tumble down the road in his rearview mirror just before a semi finished it off.
