I ordered a 12" PowerBook from Apple a couple of weeks ago, and just received notice that they've upgraded my order to the new 12" PowerBook. Hooray for me, BUT I had ordered a 512 MB memory module prior to receiving the new PowerBook.

Will the same memory work in new PowerBook?

Identical. They both use DDR266 so your memory will work fine.
