Is it built in or not: in the tech specs sheet it says it is and in the description part in the apple.com it says "Pop in the new AirPort Extreme Card in your 15-inch PowerBook’s AirPort slot, and you’re ready for 54Mbps wireless networking"
Hmmm, tough call, although I'd bet it's "built-in" but it's really a user accessible slot in which they've already done the job for you. In the 17" PB however, it's really built-in & you can't remove it because it's not an actual AE Card.

The combodrive 15" has no airport extreme. It's an option.
The Superdrive 15" does have airport extreme and so does the 17"
Check it out yourself by BTO-ing the different powerbook models
