I thought about matching the two new PB15s on the UK Apple Store so I got them as close to each other as poss in terms of specs, by selecting the superdrive version then changing it to a BTO combo etc.
Anyway the specs and prices are:

I think the original poster is taking the .25GHz into consideration. Well, it should be expected since the 1GHz one is an upgraded-BTO version where the upgrades are at premium prices.
