Try memorysuppliers.com and be sure to get the right RAM. They don't list it for Apple, but it's generic notebook SODIMM Ram. See specs for the PB first and order same specs. I got a 512 stick for 114$

I've used & recommend www.18004memory.com ; great prices & FAST shipping. I've got their RAM in my 12" PB (the cheap kind, not HyperSpeed) and it works flawlessly.

I have bought a 512 MB stick at 4allmemory without a hassle. I also bought a 512 MB stick at my local Circuit City which was actually cheaper.

Have you ever sold these guys any RAM? What do you think I could get for the 2 factory 256MB sticks that come with the Powerbook?

What do you guys suggest generic or brandname for ram?

I would like to buy one dim to bring my ram up to ~750 until I can buy a 1gb dim.
I was wondering if kingston ram is worth getting?

What ram do you suggest, is their any faster thing that is top of the line?

The price wasnt that much higher (only a few bucks) so I bought 2 512MB Hyperspeed sticks.

My new 15" Powerbook flies with just 512MB in it. I'm pleasantly surprised.

I second (or is it third by now) the recommendation to use 8004memory. I've purchased all my RAM from them over the years (even when a 16meg chip was over $800): from the 1400cs to my current 15" TiBook.

Make it a fourth...
I've placed several orders from them, and actually just placed another for my impending 12" PB.

Never had a problem.

This isn't brand name ram though? Wouldnt it be better to buy brand name ram?

If you care about "brand name" then buy the hyperspeed ones from 18004memory. Brands like Kingston, PNY, etc all use memory chips like Samsung and other common manufacturers. So they are the same sticks of RAM you would get if you bought in retail stores, but cheaper.

No kidding! I am kicking myself right now - Don't want to keep my 15" at 512mb, but don't want to waste $100 now and toss it out in a month or 6 when the 1gb is affordable.
