I just reinstalled Jaquar after my 'network nonsense' thread in OSX. No I have NO SOUND!!!, nothing, the volume control works but there is no sound anywhere. Please Help!!!

It might be hardware related, if after installing your OS you get this, this seems like it might be a hardware problem. Though resetting some things might help (like NVRAM)

it worked fine before the reinstall even after the problems.

Works fine with speakers attached just not with internal sound...

My TiBook 800 lost any and all analogue sound, built-in microphone as well as internal speakers and earphone jack (handled by some sound sub-system I think) after I'd installed and subsequently force-uninstalled some Nikon application and drivers.

It's been silent ever since, no matter what I did (restart, start in OS9, reload OSX, clear NVRAM and PRAM), which leads me to believe the hardware was somehow damaged.

Sound over USB SoundSticks works fine, and so does sound input via iSight.

I hope the same has not happened to you, or that you at least still have warranty.

The prayers did pay off, after working at school all day with the speakers plugged in I went to show someone how the sound didn't work and it did!

The Man upstairs does listen to prayers!
