i noticed it says the new 15" has 3 speakers (1 on each side, 1 below the keyboard) while the 17" only has 2.

is this to make up for the size of the speakers in the 17"? or would the 15" sound better?

I thought it was a typo from the 12" PB specs. Doesn't seem like the 15" would need a 3rd mid-range speaker, its loud enough as it is.

It has a third one, at least according to the tech specs on the main website.
