do is see that there is NO buffer even for the expensive one
if that is the case..... do NOT buy it
you need buffer
2mb minimum

Sorry I know nothing about ram. Point me to the exact ram I should by in a 512mb dim. It needs to be quality ram, I dont want to be buying ****, you know?

If you're buying from Crucial.com, you're buying Crucial memory (which is generally very good).

Try this link; it should take you right to the memory types that you can put into a new 15" PowerBook. Don't worry about whether it's buffered or not; I've never seen anyone having to worry about that, whether they're using an AMD/Intel computer or a Mac.

Thanks I was told by a couple of people to go with crucial memory. I will probably put in my order tomorrow for a dim. And just let it at ~700 mb of ram till the 1gb dims get cheaper.

Crucial (a division of Micron) is excellent RAM and is (one of) the OEMs for many PC Makers including Apple and Dell.
