Well, I'm starting to get impatient (not quite pre-order-buyer's remorse) waiting for the 12" to arrive. While the machine I know will be a great replacement for my iBook (I just want to have a portable for weekend trips, and the occasional freelance which requires being away from the family); and having desktop gear at home and at work-- I've been eyeing the 15".

Improvements over the 12": Radeo 9600, 1280x854pixel resolution, DVI and S-Video native, 1-512MB RAM option, 5400rpm drive option, 1.25GHz, backlit keyboard, FireWire 800, faster RAM(?) and bus.

My hangups: It's much bigger. I've had a Titanium, and it was too big for portability's sake (think bike messenger bag). The biggest snag is, it's nearly $1000 more. Which means I'll have to work twice as hard to pay it off (in this job market probably 8 months out, even with the help of an Apple Loan).

What to do? Thoughts and sympathy appreciated .

You sound like me I wanted a 15 for so long and would of waited longer for the AL 15. Although after seeing the 15 it was too big for what I needed it to do. I am a student money wasnt an issue but I needed to pick the right laptop because I need it to last at least 4 years. So I went with the 12 and its perfect. No regrets. Trust me go with what you wanted originally because it is really what you want. Although you have to make sure to check one out at a time and go back and forth. I crossed the 17 off the list right away. The 15 vs 12 happened for awhile. However I knew in January when steve held up that 12 that this laptop was build for me. LOL. So I have a 2 week old 12 inch pB and am completely satisfied. No issues knock on wood.
