Just wondering...I am using this soon-to-be-arriving 15" PB laptop to be my primary, but I'm debating taking it to work.

Unfortunately, my job has absolutely nothing to do with using macs. I thought it would be nice to bring along and treat the laptop as a glorified PDA/mp3 player/IM connection (not necessary really), but I think a few people at work would just think I'm a prick who's trying to show off how much money I have.

(really, it's b/c my company's got this firewall that keeps me from using AIM...only way to break through is using a hard phone line)

At my old position I could hide it behind my PC workstation, but it's nigh impossible to do it now. ahh...decisions decisions.
Now I know, and knowing is half the battle!

I'm going to order one and primarily use it for web development (web design/graphics), mp3's, games and iChat. I own my own business, so it will always be at my house anyways

I take my Ti800 DVI everywhere. It is my primary machine, but I use it everywhere I go. At work I am forced to use a peecee, but when I my laptop is also on and when I am not doing work, I take care of my own personal tasks while on the company's dime. Unfortunately, I am "prohibited" from connecting my laptop to the network. So I do everything but surf the web on it. I am also prohibited from watching DVD's while at work, but that one gets broken every Friday. Now that I have Safari, I wonder if I can get past the firewall into the network... I will have to try it out this week. Lousy netware firewall, didn't feel like spending the money for the program to bypass it, since I wasn't supposed to be doing it anyway.

My Ti 867 goes everywhere with me... Home, office, uni, holiday... etc I figure, why own a portable and not take it with me!?

I connect to the internet via Bluetooth phone so can get email and browse the net, albeit slowly, anywhere...

Overall it is very useful, and very cool.

lol...use the built-in modem. I don't think they've figured out a way to block your phone line just yet. And you're not violating any company rules either other than the fact that surfing the web would be a super-long personal phone call.

Doesn't your company care though that you're using up some of their time, or do they simply not know? Granted, it's going to happen regardless if you're using your laptop or their PC.

The people who feel that it's an integral part of your life...wow....do you all work in multimedia or something? I know of only one hardcore mac user who uses his laptop all the time. You are all truly lucky in that case.
