Hi, ppl, I will be receiving my brand new 12" in about a week and I want to set everything up right now so I can enjoy my 12" as soon as it comes to me.

As we are speaking right now, I am connected to the Internet via a Router shared by two computers on a ADSL connection. Now, I dont know the terminology, but I think I either need a wireless hub/switch to work with the air extreme card.

If I want to keep my current router, which thing should I get to go wireless? What brand
If I want to get rid of my router, which other thing should I get to replace it and go completely wireless? what brand

Thank you so much

It will be most likely mentioned that this is posted in the wrong forum but oh well.

You don;t have to get rid of your current router is you like iit and it meets your needs. I good wireless access point will do fine to expand what you already have and save you the hassle of having to configure a router again.

I have a 4-port Linksys DSL router/ switch that the computers that are in that room are connected too and I have a Belkin wireless access point connected to one of the LAN ports to give me the wireless side.

If you are looking for the fast "g" network then a new router may be better from a cost perspective but if you just need it for internet use then a "b" access point will be fine.

One last thing, I run my network at 128 bit encryption and I found that with the way apple works with passwords iit was beter to use a 13 character hhex string rather then trying to get the mac to work with a password.

Either way once you have it you will most likely find that you will use the laptop alot more than you did before with the ease of having wireless.
