How come they didn't ship as they made them? It would have been nice to see them at the doorstep before the weekend. Mine ships on Monday, but I dont think I will get it till the end of the week because AIRBORNE doesnt seem to be doing their job on the 2 day shipping deal.
I ordered 2 day shipping for a reason, and I don't think I have gotten a single thing in 2 days from apple. Should I call them and bitch them out?

For example my airport extreme shipped the 17th, but its not here yet? Whats up with that? Plus none of my tracking numbers work.
Shipment History:

DATE TIME ACTIVITY AND COMMENTS LOCATION
9/20/03 2 : 13 am Left Airborne Station. South Bend, IN
9/17/03 1 : 14 pm In Transit. Taoyuan, Taiwan
9/19/03 12 : 11 am Picked Up by Airborne. Shipper's Door

I know the ALPBs are assembled overseas (taiwan). Then it has to deal with Customs before entry into US. Could be several days delay. I'm not pleased with Airbum either.

This is turning into an anti-Airborne thread ... I've had my problems with Airbore, but they sure do a GREAT job with iBook AppleCare turnaround ... three days from Portland, ME to Austin, TX, repair, and back!

Question remains, why are most (all?) BTO Alu 15" with 5400RPM HD shipping "on or before 9/23?"

I ordred the faster shipping (2day) on my order. It included an isight and an apple care package. I have not see the words airborne yet on anything. The day i ordered, my APP and Isight shipped via fedex ground. And they both showed up less than 24hrs later!! Can't beat that, thats incredible shipping. I expect my powerbook to be here the day after it's shipped, since everything else got here that fast, i dont have any complaints only praise.

Nope, I paid for the second day shipping and I'm stuck with Airborne.

CTO, BTO sane ting. As far as tracking with Airborne; I was told by an Apple rep. that there was some software glitch between Apple and AB's tracking-that was suppose to be corrected last week. AB is OK-except FEDEX has never let me down on any order in 8 or 9 years.

I believe the way it works is that Apple makes enough machines to fit on a pallet and then it ships them from Taiwan. Once it reaches the US and goes through customs - THEN your 2 day/1 day/ground shipping comes into play.

So from the time it gets to the US and is cleared through customs to the time you get it is what you payed for.
