I have the Ti 1 ghz and the fan comes on often and is a lot louder than I was used to on my Pismo - which hardly ever came on. How is it on the new ones? Can anyone let us know?

Peter - out of interest, does it pulse as it starts and then cycle in the same way as the rev.A 17" fans do?

Brrm brrrrrrm brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm and then cycling from there (if that helps )

The fan comes on very infrequently (I've had it come on three times in three days and that was with lots of firewire drive copying and 100% CPU usage).

Yes, the fan sound is exactly like that on the 17", a soft low frequency sound as opposed to the loud high-frequency sound on the Tibook.
