Anyone have any places/brands of RAM they could recommend for the new 15" Albook?

Check out http://ramseeker.com

Lots of people swear by Crucial memory. They're good and I've bought their memory, but I've also bought cheaper memory elsewhere and never had problems. Knock wood.

They haven't been on the market for long and they're harder to make. Just like any new technology, it starts out high then eventually comes down.

I don't know what's different here, but you wanted cheap.

http://www.boundlesstech.com/detail...._id=1PGB2700PB

or better yet.....

http://www.boundlesstech.com/detail...._id=G1GB2700PB

I don't have a clue if it works, since the Apple system profiler doesn't show speeds like the old days. ie: 322, 333, 222, etc

Anyone try these yet ?

There is also:

What to do? What to do?

On the subject of ram, the old TiBook was PC133 right? I'm looking to eventually up it from 512MB, to 1GB, but haven't got around to it yet - will it really be worth the £200ish ($330) it'll be?

Are those links to 1GB chips or two 512MB chips? Note the (512) in parenthesis.

Try PC-Memory-Upgrade.co.uk not sure how cheap it is compared to Crucial.

Good Luck

Just buy it from the US. It's very cheap to ship. Even with the VAT, it'll still be cheaper.

That looks good but they have three different units. Which one for the new PBs?

I don't think those chips are for the PBs. If you look under the Mac Memory Finder on that page and choose the new powerbooks, you won't find any 1GB chips there.
