Please tell the group exactly WHAT you have been doing with your powerbook today... whether now or a little earlier in the day.

maybe you can even upload a file to show us...
some picture
some piece of music
etc...

thanks

I have been gently avoiding packing my stuff up in preparation for move back to uni. I mean why should I actually do something useful, when there's so much guff on the internet to be looked at! (guff=rubbish/fart in common useage nowadays, but actually meant empty talk in 19th century - you see I'm actually that bored that I'm looking up words in the dictionary in order to fill out my posts. Got to get out more!)

THIS is the best response i can get from this crowd? has your sunday been THIS boring? or.... are you hiding something from us... something you don't want us to know about....
- some new MAC trick that you refuse to divulge
- some inventive use for the powerbook of which no one else would have though
- a way to get peripherals for 50% off list price

you get the idea

well ... nothing too exciting ....

i installed fink and am installing all packages i need

i guess one "tip" not for peripherals ... but this worked for me. i suppose do this only if you are interested in the APP.

go into your PB purchase saying "i think i'm going to get the APP, but am not sure -- i'll probably purchase it at a later time, i just need to think about it".

the sales guy tried to talk me into it for about 30 seconds (a couple of times), then knocked $50 off my PB purchase if i took the hook.

by the way, if anyone can figure out how to use the slot-loading drive as a DRINK COASTER, please post!!!!!

Haha!

As for what I've been doing, nothing important. On my 17" the same old mundane email reading, websurfing (looking at ebay, getting some kitchen gear, but keep on drifting over to the Mac section where some guy is selling a souped up G5 dual 2Ghz...), you know. As for my other PowerBook, which is my server, I've been reinstalling the OS, just administrative tasks as well as trying to track people who keep hitting my server looking for the nsiilog.dll or whatever it's called. Stoopid IIS users!

spending my sunday at effing work, browsing through the apple store pretending i can afford a new 15" PB. and the same tip can go for .Mac as vancenase mentioned above. I saw an Apple employee sell .Mac to a customer for $30 just because the customer wasn't too sure about the price. anyway, back to work

I was doing my homework (blech) while the wife was at Central Park catching the Dalai Lama's speech.

Really wish I could've been there, but yesterday I spent so much time driving to and fro the Apple Store (had to go to the next state to get to a store that actually had one to sell) to get my brand spanking new 15" Al , then another 1.5 hour drive to sell my old PB.
