Just do a google search on 'replace ibook drive', and you'll get several; even the first one looks quite informative. I recently replaced the drive on my Late 2001 iBook and it wasn't too bad as long as you've got the right tools, and are careful with the labelling the screws you remove.

Search carefully and you may even find the Apple manual.

www.powerbookmedic.com

sells a book that gives a pretty good takeapart for the ibook. Worth the $10. Covers some of the caslis stuff, but better in places (it's all of 13 pages). I hope the two of them will be enough for me -- we'll see when I get the time.
He can be fixed -- you can't.
