Well I crawled out of bed last Tuesday morning and ordered myself up one of those new ALbooks. Should be here soon. My 400 Tibook was my first apple, and has been a loyal companion for over two years now!
The obvious first upgrade for my powerbook is going to be RAM. my questions:
1. Is the DDR ram the same size SODIMM as the SDRAM for the Tibooks?
2. Is there a noticable difference in speed between the DDR and the SDRAM?
3. Can I mix and match the ddr that comes with the ALbook and a 512mb SDRAM chip from my TiBook?
You can never go wrong with Crucial. I picked-up a 512 stick of PC2700 from newegg.com for $103 (and NewEgg is awesome). It is Kingmax brand. I've never used that brand before, but, as long as it's not generic, it should be all good.

DDR RAM is faster if the cpu can utilize it. unfortunately a G4 doesn't really utilize it. a 1Ghz tibook with 512mb of pc133 ram performs probably about 90% as good as a 1Ghz albook with 512mb DDR333. this is just going from the benchmarks i've seen.
