I have noticed a few spots my my 15" Albook where the screen is not quite the same, it looks like a big spot of white on top of what should be displayed. They are not horribly noticeable but I dont like them. Could these be bad pixels? If they would be dead then there would be no color in little tiny spots right?

Usually stuck pixels show up as red, green, or blue. I use an app called pixel check to check the LCD for every new machine I buy. You can find it at:

use the program pixel check to look for bad pixels on your LCD screen.

I am getting the screen replaced on my 17" Al book for the same reason. I think there are spacers between the body of the book and the screen....i think those happen when the Aluminum flexes and pushes on the LCD from the inside.

There doesn't seem to be a really firm answer, it depends on who you deal with. In general they want 5 or more bad on the screen or two or three within an inch of each. However, some reps will say this is still OK and others will get you replaced for less.

I have this "thumbprint" on the bottom right also. However, I'm relucant to replace it since it's only really visible on a bright screen (like a pure white background) and my screen is perfect otherwise. I'm beginning to think this "thumbprint" is a pressure point from something behind the screen and is present on alot of the 15" but to slightly more or less a degree.

Well I finally got in to the Apple store and they said I can exchange it because I bought it less than 10 days ago. They didn't have any more in so they extended my exchage deadline. As soon as they get one in I will go get it! Thanks for the help.
