After the update to 10.2.8 my keyboard illumination is practically non-existent.

i can see that some lighting effect is happening between the keys, but the letters on the keyboard are not visible at all when i'm in moderate to mostly dark room conditions.

This is unacceptable, and i wont even go into the reduced battery time i now have until i discharge and recharge the battery to see if it is actually reduced since the update.

I am getting pangs of OS 9 7.5.3 - god, what a clusterfsck that was....

...and also iPod firmware 1.2, which hosed my power management enough that i had to exercise my warranty and get a new one.

Any update that has power management update should be installed with caution.....

is it possible apple decided to change the keylight settings themselves to lengthen the battery life? When you fully recharge will you post if it was an issue or battery life causing your keys to be less lit (unless i read your post wrong).....

Thanks

i was getting minimum illumination

BTW -- i had the new Illumination timer set to turn off the KYBD light after 5 minutes of non use.

Ummm, Sorry to dis the update but i need to read the manual or something....

Apparantly, the ambient light level was dropped to low after the update, and I NEVER noticed the F8, F9, F10 keys to control the level of the keyboard light.

So, after a couple of presses of F10
WE'RE BACK TO NORMAL!!!!

Sorry Apple, although apparently YOU know your update sucked.....

But my Battery life still sucks,, WTF!!!!?????

Peace!
