I ordered a stock 1.25GHz 15" Al PB with 2X 256M RAM from the Apple Store (by phone) on 9-16 (Tuesday) at 11AM. It was deleivered by Airborne yesterday (Monday 9-22) at noon. Great work Apple!!!''

I ordered 2X 512 MB RAM sets from www.4allmemory.com (512MB DDR333, PC2700, SODIMM $114) also on 9-16. They shipped the memory the same day.

I installed the memory and now have 1024MB of RAM showing in "About this Mac". Note: installing the 2 membory sets is a bit "tricky". The lower set has to put in at a shallow angle, underneath some black plastic strips that hold the upper set. Took about 10 minutes to replace the RAM. You need a very small Philips screwdriver to take off the RAM cover.

The new PB is cooler than my 667 15" TiPB. The screen seems to be brighter as well.

I am happy with the new keyboard, and the PB is quiet in all functions. This upgrade was well worth waiting for.

The iPod (20 GB) that I ordered (9-16) is still not here as of 9-23-03 (ordered at the same time as the 15" PB which is here.) The Airborne tracking numbers from all sources show no current information for the iPod. The iPod shows as being from Shanghai, China.

The Airborne (YUCK!) tracking site also shows shipping as being "GROUND", although I paid for 2 day air shipping. I miss FedEx!!

I also ordered a spare battery, and that shows 2-3 WEEKS until shipping.

I think my 20GB iPod is in the same batch as yours. Those haven't cleared customs as fast as the PowerBooks. My guess they're more suspicious of packages originating in mainland China versus Taiwan.

And it'll come 2 day according to Apple. They say Airborne is just stupid and lists all orders coming from abroad as ground.

Good luck.
